Sharing good news

Unite4:Good a global network of individuals, NGOs, companies and celebrities focused on promoting positive news and action within local and global communities.

I was responsible for leading a small distributed UX and Design team delivering concepts, wireframes, prototypes, design specs and assets for the social good web platform. Within 6mo we had gone from idea to launching the first version of the website.

Lots of sketches & Wireframes

The team spent most of their time focused on getting the overall structure of the site right. We knew that we were launching with an MVP but planned to quickly roll out new features and sections. Because of this, we wanted to make sure that everything fit into the big picture.

Developing a design system in Photoshop

While we were still in the wireframe mode, we began developing a design system in Photoshop. We made scalable components with various interaction states using a combination of nested Smart Objects and layer comps. While not as flexible and robust as Symbols (in modern design tools) our approach allowed us to quickly mockup, prototype and test variations of the site.

The Unite4:Good website was also designed on a mobile first grid with breakpoints for tablet and multiple desktop sizes.
