Creative Direction, UI/UX & Ideation

CLIENT:  Verizon FiOS

Worked with Verizon FiOS on ideation and early stage wireframes and mocks for a UGC video site where users would create and upload videos around a central theme or topic.  Topics would change on a monthly basis, and multiple topics could be happening congruently.  The community would be able to vote on their favorite videos and the winners would receive prizes, an opportunity to make it onto a special FiOS TV channel and even get to spend time with top names in the film and story telling community.

Sketches

Lots of sketches were created to quickly break the project into bite size pieces and work through all the UI/UX for the site.  Once we had settled on a layout and structure, high quality sketches were drawn up  and presented to the client.  Once approved we moved on to creating wireframes.

Wireframes / LoFi Comps

Wireframes can be create for early stages of the design process, but since we spent so much time sketching, we decided to go right into gray scale comps of the website.  The comps were key in making sure all the small details were in place and at a size that was legible and close to final size.  The comps were put into InVision so that we could interact with the designs and get a sense for how navigating the site would work.

Comps were made for every aspect of the site, from the Home page, to Sign Up and even the whole video upload and contest submission process.

Playing with Color

Full color comps were done to a handful of the pages so that we could play with font, color and the overall style of the site.  The project was eventually shelved but it was a lot of fun working on a large scale UGC video site.
